Edward Jablonski
, distinguished biographer of Gershwin, Arlen, Berlin and others, close friend of the Gershwin family, and author of Flying Fortress and other highly acclaimed titles, describes in this video clip the impression Gibbons' Gershwin performances made on him when he first heard him in New York in 1991 and again in 1994 on the occasion of Gibbons' New York debut. Since then Gibbons has appeared almost annually in New York, performing with great success at both the Lincoln Center and at Carnegie Hall. Gibbons returned to Carnegie Hall for a special Gershwin concert on Saturday February 26th 2005. The event was a memorial, celebrating the life of Edward Jablonski, who sadly died on February 10th 2004. This special Carnegie Hall event was Jack Gibbons' own personal tribute to one of the 20th century's most remarkable writers. Details of Jack's return to Carnegie Hall, New York, on March 3rd 2007 can be found on this web site in the concerts section.
